We look forward to a new 2019 season with all of you!!! Go Mustangs!

As previously mentioned we have a meeting on Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Guidance Area at the High School. It’s our last meeting in this location (more to come on this).

We have many exciting changes to discuss with you and we certainly can use your support for the following:

Volunteers will be needed for a few positions on our board as well as many very important committees.

These include:
Football Liaison (board position)
Cheer Liaison (board position)
Finance Committee members
Social Media Guru (Twitter, Website, Facebook)
Pasta Dinners
Events
Apparel Point person
Photo/Media Book
Game Day Operations

Please come and join us. We will be certain to review the new changes that have emerged along with a recap of 2018 (what worked really well that we hope to continue).

Come with a positive attitude and some great ideas. It will be fun.

We will be having our regularly scheduled Gridiron meeting this Wednesday January 9th at 7:30 in the HS Guidance area.

In addition to the normal topics, there will be an update from the By-Law committee meeting and discussion on potential next steps.

There will also be an initial call to those who are interested in becoming a Gridiron director and/or committee lead for next season.

Please join our 3 and 1 Varsity Football Team and our Award Winning Cheerleaders this Friday night at our home “pink out” game to support metastatic breast cancer research!

We will be raising money through t-shirt sales, raffles and a 50/50. All proceeds will go to “The Cancer Couch Foundation” an organization that supports women with metastatic breast cancer and the research for a cure.

Raffle prizes include a Bose Link Speaker and a 2 Month Membership to Anytime Fitness in Medway.

Hello Football parents….below is an update regarding upcoming football activities:

• All times and locations for player activities are subject to change. Players are responsible for reading their emails / text messages from Coach Baker and/or Captains. If there are conflicting messages from Gridiron emails/website and a message from the Coach and/or Captains then players need to reach out to their Captains for clarity***

This week:

• Please Register your child on Family ID ASAP. [https://www.familyid.com ]. This must be done before they participate in practice on August 17th!

• This Wednesday is the last week of passing league and currently there are two games scheduled. Players are to arrive a half hour early.

• Friday the 10th is equipment & practice apparel distribution. Seniors are to be at the High School at 1:30p to help set up for distribution. Below is the order in which the players will get their equipment:
o Seniors 3:00pm
o Juniors 3:30pm
o Sophomores 4:00pm
o Freshman 4:30pm

Next week:

• Monday the 13th @ 4pm, is the start of Warrior Camp in Medfield. This camp will take place on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (Thursday is this Rain date)….4-7. This camp is for all players who plan to play this fall.
o Players are to wear gray t-shirts and blue shorts.
o Registration form is available for download on the gridiron website www.medwaygridiron.com (If you haven’t paid yet then it’s $110 per player)

• Friday the 17th is the first day of practice! It starts at 3:00pm. My advice…..make sure the players get there early.
o Players are to wear Shorts, t-shirts and helmets.
o Players need to bring a notebook and pencil. Practice will be from 3p to 8p.

• Saturday the 18th: practice is at 8:00am – 10:30am

• The following Monday- Friday will be our regular practice schedule 3:30p-6:00p

• Saturday the 26th will be a night scrimmage for the varsity at Medfield HS time is TBA. They are looking into a Freshman scrimmage as well but not yet scheduled. Please watch for email or text on this.

• Week of the 27th thru 31st regular practice schedule 3:30p-6:00p.

• Saturday morning September 1st there will be an all program scrimmage at Blue Hills Vocational in Canton (same location as last year)….Time TBA

• NO PRACTICE on Labor Day

• Regular practice schedule starting on September 4th.

Hi Gridiron families,

We are planning an adult social where families can meet with the football and cheer coaches on Friday August 17th. We would like to provide some silent auction items for this event.

We are looking for items families can donate to this auction. Some examples could be: sporting event tickets, possible Cape or Lake night /weekends, or any other items that would generate interest.
